3. Contact your referees

Please remember: 

• To directly contact your chosen referees to get agreement that they will act as a referee and inform them of the process prior to uploading their details on to the reference website.
• As a courtesy you should contact your referees prior to submitting their details to us so they expect to be contacted.
• Actively follow up with your referees to ensure the reference is complete by application close date ideally

So that you are prepared for when the request comes through: please list below 3 clinical supervisors who have supervised you for your current and past 2 runs.

• NB: They must be vocationally registered consultants who have supervised you on a day to day basis, regardless of whether you have been in a relief run.  Please note dates in red below are relevant for NZ House Officer and Registrar runs.

It is also a good idea to think of back-up Supervisors for these 3 runs, in case your nominated referee is not available at the time of the electronic reference request process.

• *NB:You do not need to upload these back-up referee details to the website, only if requested by an NRA team member to do so, or if you know your nominated referee for any particular run is not available at the time of the electronic request to upload your referee details.
