Psychiatry Registrars

Psychiatry Registrars - hear from one of our own Registrars.

Why train as a Psychiatry registrar in the Auckland region?

Working here you would gain exposure to unique psychiatric rotations rarely seen elsewhere in Australasia. Cover in your training:-

  • Clinical & administrative; forensic ID; EPI/early intervention
  • Maori mental health; Pacific Island mental health
  • Child liaison; maternal mental health
  • Broad sub-specialities in forensics.

We run New Zealand's largest programme with a well established training scheme that will ensure you benefit from a mentoring programme, excellent supervisor support and day-release teaching. We are proud of our high exam pass rates. Auckland can accommodate Advanced Training in any sub-speciality, we have close ties to University of Auckland and the provision of funded private psychotherapy supervisors  - ensuring you will not experience any training delays.
