Basic and Advanced Training Opportunities Available
During your first 2-3 years as a basic trainee working in the Auckland Region you will be able to develop your skills while allocated to general paediatrics and NICU rotations as well as some sub specialty exposure (haematology/oncology, immunology/infectious diseases, cardiology, respiratory, neurology, renal, gastroenterology, endocrinology).

Advanced trainees working in the Auckland region are provided with a unique with opportunity to work in Level 3 NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit), Te Puaruruhau (Child Protection/Abuse), Child Psychiatry, Child Emergency Department, Consult Liaison and various medical sub specialties.

All of our training sites offer runs which can be accredited to your basic and advanced training in Paediatrics with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Our training programme also provides trainees with the potential to work in Whangarei which is ideal for completing rural training requirements. Eligibility and how to apply:
  • Preferred experience: 12 months
  • Enrolment with the college FRACP programme (or equivalent)
  • Eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (for local trainees this means you must have completed two full post-graduate years)
