PATHOLOGY REGISTRAR

We
are pleased to invite applications for the position of a full-time forensic
pathology registrar based in the Department of Forensic Pathology, Auckland hospital.
The
department is situated in a comprehensive medical laboratory providing services
to the greater Auckland region.
The
successful applicant will work under the supervision of the forensic
pathologists in provision of the local coronial pathology service, as well as assisting
in the provision of the regional homicide/suspicious death service. The
registrar will be based at Auckland hospital but may also be expected to travel
to other centres to participate in the provision of the local coronial
pathology service. There will be a requirement to be involved in the teaching
of medical students and other allied professionals.
Applicants
must demonstrate a strong interest in and commitment to forensic pathology,
possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal), be able to work under
pressure, have sound medical knowledge and diagnostic acumen, and have ability to
work as a member of team.
The
registrar will take part in the forensic pathology training scheme as outlined
by the RCPA forensic pathology training curriculum and the Northern Forensic
Pathology Service of NZ.
Applicants
must have a medical qualification recognised by the New Zealand Medical
Council, allowing general medical registration. A driver's license and ability
to travel are essential.
